About.
I spent the first years of my working life involved in sports and then decided in the late eighties to combine that with buying and selling Doulton. During this period I started to collect art and bought my first picture of a Highland cattle scene by William Watson Jnr. which I have only recently decided to sell. Please see gallery.
Whilst in an auction house and looking for Doulton I stumbled across a magnificent painting of a Peregrine Falcon by D.M Henry which I subsequently bought and my passion for bird art became firmly established. As my knowledge of bird art increased I started to look for paintings by John Cyril Harrison, Archibald Thorburn, George Edward Lodge, Philip Rickman, William Hollywood, Rodger Mcphail, Colin Burns and others, but it probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise if you look at the gallery that my overall favourite is John Cyril Harrison.
Some of the paintings on this site have been in my collection for years and some for decades but after discussing things with my wife we decided that we can buy and sell good bird art as well as collect it. Selling bird art is not only enjoyable but rewarding for both myself and my clients, many of whom have become personal friends.
I do hope you enjoy looking at the jjcountrylifeart website and I look forward to hearing from you.
You can also find a few of our pictures at The West London Shooting School where they are currently being displayed.
